Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Arguma. They're short on purpose — by creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Arguma.

Your account

• You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google sign-in. Either way, you need a valid email address and you're responsible for keeping access to your account secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use Arguma.

Acceptable use

Use Arguma for thinking, not for harm. You agree not to:

• Break the law, infringe others' rights, or store or share unlawful, harmful, or abusive content — including via public share links.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other people's accounts and data.
• Flood the service with junk, spam, or bulk machine-generated content, or otherwise use storage and usage limits in bad faith — Arguma is for maps you actually think with.
• Create accounts or scrape the service by automated means without our permission.

Your content

You own everything you create in Arguma — every map, thought, and link. You grant us only the limited rights needed to store, process, back up, and display your content so the service can work. We don't claim ownership, we don't use your content for advertising, and we don't train AI models on it.

You can export your content at any time (JSON, Markdown, PNG, or an Obsidian vault) — and we encourage you to. If you delete your account, your content is permanently erased as described in the Privacy Policy.

Share links

Creating a share link means choosing to make that chain viewable, read-only, by anyone who has the link — it follows your edits live until you revoke it. You are responsible for what you share; you can review and revoke every active link under Shared chains in the app.

Early access & plans

Arguma is in early access: the free plan currently includes 3 maps and 1,000 nodes, and features or limits may change as the product evolves. If we ever change something in a way that reduces what you already have, we'll say so before it happens. Paid plans, if and when offered, will be described plainly at the point of purchase — no dark patterns.

Availability & changes

We work to keep Arguma fast and available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We make reasonable efforts — including regular backups — to avoid data loss, and exports exist so you never have to trust us on that alone.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from within the app; that's immediate and permanent. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or put other users at risk — where reasonable, we'll warn you first. Accounts used primarily for abuse (for example, flooding the service with junk or spam content) may be deleted outright, together with their content, without prior notice.

Disclaimer & liability

Arguma is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. It's a tool for organizing your reasoning — the conclusions you reach with it are yours, and so are the decisions you base on them. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data beyond what the law requires. Export anything you can't afford to lose.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date above changes with it, and material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Arguma after that means you accept the updated terms.
